Which AFSA services can be accessed online using Digital ID?

If you have a Digital ID linked to an Australian business number (ABN) in Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM), you can use it to access the online services below on behalf of your organisation:

  • Creditor bankruptcy notices
  • Bankruptcy Register Search (BRS)
  • Debt agreement
  • Practitioner Annual Administration Returns (AAR)
  • Official Receiver (OR) notices
  • Creditor meeting advertising
  • Proof of Debt (POD).

To access these online services using your Digital ID:

  1. Access the portal for professional and creditor services.
  2. Select Continue with Digital ID.
  3. Select myID as your identity app – you will need to select a standard ID strength.
  4. Enter your myID email address.
    • You can select 'remember me' to login faster when using the same device and browser in future. You won't need to enter your email and the 4-digit code will be pre-filled in your app.
  5. Select Get code – a 4-digit code will appear on the login screen.
  6. Log into your myID app using your 10-character password, fingerprint or face, then enter or accept the 4-digit code.
  7. Go back to your browser to provide consent to sharing the information outlined on screen – select Consent.
    • Only a small amount of your information is passed to the service you want to access. Usually this is limited to your name, date of birth and contact details.

After completing these steps, you will have created your AFSA Online Services account and will be logged in.

To log in faster, you can enable fingerprint or face recognition in the settings of your myID app.

What is Digital ID

Digital ID is a safe, secure and convenient way of proving who you are when accessing online services; without having to provide physical identity documents each time. Another benefit is that you don't need to remember passwords. Set it up once, and then reuse it to prove who you are.

To set up a Digital ID, you will need to provide the details of your ID documents to an accredited Digital ID provider. The details are then verified digitally with the agency who issued the document. Details can also be verified against characteristics of the document. This will verify that the document is real and owned by you.

myID is the Australian government's Digital ID app. Once you've created your Digital ID, to use AFSA Online Services professional and creditor services portal, it will need to be linked to an ABN using Relationship Authorisation Manager (RAM). RAM is an authorisation service that allows you to act on behalf of an organisation online when linked with your Digital ID, like myID.

How an ABN is linked will depend on your role:

  • Principal authority - this is the person responsible for the organisation and must be the first person to link their myID to the organisation's ABN in RAM. They can create authorisations for others to act on behalf of the organisation.
  • Authorisation administrator - this is someone who is authorised to act on behalf of the organisation using their Digital ID, as well as create and manage authorisations for others.
  • Authorised user - this is someone who is authorised to act on behalf of the organisation using their Digital ID.
