About the October 2025 statistics
AFSA's monthly statistics provide a snapshot of new personal insolvencies across Australia for October 2025. They help track short-term changes and identify emerging trends.
These statistics are provisional and may be revised as new information becomes available. They cover personal insolvencies only and do not include corporate insolvencies. All data is correct as at 31 October 2025.

Personal insolvencies by state and territory
This map shows provisional monthly data on reported personal insolvencies across each Australian state and territory.
Note: 31 cases are classified as 'Other'. These are new personal insolvencies that report an address that is overseas, part of Australia's other territories, incompatible with Australian Statistical Geography Standard (ASGS) or is unable to be published.
Personal insolvencies by type
This chart shows the share of each personal insolvency type. It breaks total personal insolvencies into bankruptcies, debt agreements, personal insolvency agreements and deceased estates.
Business-related personal insolvencies
This chart shows the proportion of people entering different personal insolvency types who have reported involvement in a business within the last 2 to 5 years.
Personal insolvencies by employment industry
This table highlights notable industries where people entering personal insolvency are employed and shows how they changed from the same month in the previous year.
