PPSR searches
There were 2,822,535 searches conducted on the PPSR in the September quarter 2022. This was a decrease of 3.7% compared to the September quarter 2021, when there were 2,930,668 searches on the PPSR.
Motor vehicle searches by serial number were the most common type in the September quarter 2022. They accounted for 52.0% of searches.
PPSR registrations
There were 497,905 registrations created on the PPSR in the September quarter 2022. This number rose by 0.8% compared to the September quarter 2021, when there were 494,086 registrations created.
In the September quarter 2022, there were 457,790 amendments to registrations on the PPSR. There were 412,692 registrations discharged or removed from the PPSR.
At 30 September 2022, there were 10,104,944 current registrations on the PPSR. Motor vehicle was the most common collateral class with 4,673,071 registrations. This was 46.2% of total current registrations.
Commercial property was the most common type of collateral. At 30 September 2022, 7,949,775 current registrations on the PPSR were of this collateral type. This was 78.7% of total current registrations.
