PPSR searches

There were 3,364,894 searches conducted on the PPSR in the September quarter 2024. This was an increase of 4.3% compared to the September quarter 2023, when there were 3,227,059 searches on the PPSR.

Motor vehicle searches by serial number were the most common type in the September quarter 2024. They accounted for 54.4% of searches.

PPSR registrations

There were 564,229 registrations created on the PPSR in the September quarter 2024. This number rose by 2.1% compared to the September quarter 2023, when there were 552,693 registrations created.

In the September quarter 2024, there were 460,766 amendments to registrations on the PPSR. There were 427,243 registrations discharged or removed from the PPSR.

At 30 September 2024, there were 10,537,811 current registrations on the PPSR. Motor vehicle was the most common collateral class with 4,964,082 registrations. This was 47.1% of total current registrations.

Commercial property was the most common type of collateral. At 30 September 2024, 8,355,880 current registrations on the PPSR were of this collateral type. This was 79.3% of total current registrations.
