PPSR searches

There were 2,878,394 searches conducted on the PPSR in the March quarter 2022. This was an increase of 10.3% compared to the March quarter 2021, when there were 2,610,223 searches on the PPSR.

Motor vehicle searches by serial number were the most common type in the March quarter 2022. They accounted for 50.4% of searches.

PPSR registrations

There were 457,418 registrations created on the PPSR in the March quarter 2022. This number rose by 2.6% compared to the March quarter 2021, when there were 446,012 registrations created.

In the March quarter 2022, there were 287,510 amendments to registrations on the PPSR. There were 399,930 registrations discharged or removed from the PPSR.

At 31 March 2022, there were 10,065,044 current registrations on the PPSR. Motor vehicle was the most common collateral class with 4,657,524 registrations. This was 46.3% of total current registrations.

Commercial property was the most common type of collateral. At 31 March 2022, 7,872,691 current registrations on the PPSR were of this collateral type. This was 78.2% of total current registrations.
