Practicing registered debt agreement administrators

When entering a debt agreement, you must use a registered debt agreement administrator (RDAA) to manage it. The Official Trustee (AFSA) does not administer debt agreements.

What is a registered debt agreement administrator?

A registered debt agreement administrator is a professional who helps you set up and manage a debt agreement under the Bankruptcy Act 1966.

They are responsible for making sure your agreement is managed according to the Bankruptcy Act and in the best interests of you and your creditors.

Why you may need one

If you decide to lodge a debt agreement proposal, you must work with a RDAA. They will:

  • explain how a debt agreement works
  • help you prepare and lodge your proposal with AFSA
  • manage the agreement if creditors accept it
  • collect and distribute your repayments.
