PPSR searches

There were 2,930,668 searches conducted on the PPSR in the September quarter 2021. This was an increase of 15.1% compared to the September quarter 2020, when there were 2,547,120 searches on the PPSR.

Organisational grantor searches were the most common type in the September quarter 2021. They accounted for 50.3% of searches.

PPSR registrations

There were 494,086 registrations created on the PPSR in the September quarter 2021. This number rose by 8.3% compared to the September quarter 2020, when there were 456,143 registrations created.

In the September quarter 2021, there were 472,242 amendments to registrations on the PPSR. There were 443,792 registrations discharged or removed from the PPSR.

At 30 September 2021, there were 10,044,514 current registrations on the PPSR. Motor vehicle was the most common collateral class with 4,664,122 registrations. This was 46.4% of total current registrations.

Commercial property was the most common type of collateral. At 30 September 2021, 7,823,352 current registrations on the PPSR were of this collateral type. This was 77.9% of total current registrations.
