Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) statistics for the March quarter 2025

PPSR searches

There were 3,173,149 searches conducted on the PPSR in the March quarter 2025. This was an increase of 2.7% compared to the March quarter 2024, during which there were 3,089,388 searches on the PPSR.

Motor vehicle searches by serial number were the most common type in the March quarter 2025. They accounted for 56.0% of searches.

PPSR registrations

There were 525,523 registrations created on the PPSR in the March quarter 2025. This number rose by 0.8% compared to the March quarter 2024, during which there were 521,602 registrations created.

In the March quarter 2025, there were 348,827 amendments to registrations on the PPSR. There were 414,301 registrations discharged or removed from the PPSR.

At 31 March 2025, there were 10,635,580 current registrations on the PPSR. Motor vehicle was the most common collateral class with 5,030,997 registrations. This was 47.3% of total current registrations.

Commercial property was the most common type of collateral. At 31 March 2025, 8,422,525 current registrations on the PPSR were of this collateral type. This was 79.2% of total current registrations.
