Personal Property Securities Register statistics for the June quarter 2025

PPSR searches

In the June quarter 2025, a total of 3,349,493 searches were conducted on the Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR). This represents a 2.0% decrease compared to the same quarter 2024, which saw 3,416,455 searches.

The most common type of search was motor vehicle searches by serial number, accounting for 56.4% of all searches during the quarter.

PPSR registrations

There were 597,973 new registrations created on the PPSR in the June quarter 2025, an increase of 4.1% compared to the June quarter 2024, which recorded 574,679 registrations.

During the same period:

  • 320,788 registrations were amended
  • 420,139 registrations were discharged or removed.

As of 30 June 2025, there were 10,723,621 current registrations on the PPSR.

Collateral types

  • Motor vehicles were the most common collateral class with 5,072,984 registrations, making up 47.3% of all current registrations.
  • Commercial property was the most common type of collateral, with 8,485,055 registrations, representing 79.1% of total current registrations.
