The economic impact of the coronavirus, COVID-19, is uncertain. To assist in understanding the impact, we are publishing preliminary fortnightly statistics on Australia’s personal insolvencies.
These statistics include a breakdown of personal insolvencies where somebody has been in a business or management role in a company. This includes sole traders, contractors, sub-contractors and people in director/secretary or management roles in companies.
This is in addition to our usual statistical releases. We have brought forward our release dates for the upcoming March quarter 2020 statistics to ensure that you have the most up-to-date information possible. We will publish:
- State and territory statistics (personal insolvency administrations and business/non-business statistics on 29 April 2020 (previously planned for 12 May)
- Regional statistics on 7 May 2020 (previously planned for 21 May).
We will continue to review our statistics releases to bring you as up-to-date information as possible.
We welcome your input. Please email statistics [at] afsa.gov.au with any feedback or suggestions.
