Receiving recognition once is an honour. Earning it twice confirms we're on the right path, building digital services with users at the heart of every decision.

The Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) and Australian Financial Security Authority (AFSA) websites have won at the 2025 GovCMS Community Awards, taking home the Connecting with Community and Innovation awards respectively. These community-voted results highlight how our digital services are making a real difference for Australians through user-centred design.

GovCMS is the platform government agencies use to deliver modern, secure and accessible websites. Its annual Community Awards celebrate teams setting new benchmarks for public sector digital services. AFSA's dual success shows our peers value sound design choices that help people find information and complete tasks more easily.

Connecting with Community: PPSR website

The PPSR website serves millions of users each year, from small business owners to Australians buying second-hand goods. It won for its clear, intuitive interface that lets people check vehicles before purchase, search security interests, and understand their rights and responsibilities with minimal friction.

It was recognised for how well it supports community participation, offering transparent, accessible services that help individuals and businesses engage confidently with government.

Innovation: AFSA website

Our recent AFSA website refresh was awarded for innovation, recognising our creative use of modern technology and thoughtful design enhancements.

Key improvements include:

  • simplified layout and clearer navigation
  • improved search
  • more inclusive, accessible design
  • optimised performance.

These changes position AFSA to meet rising user expectations with greater clarity, consistency and reliability.

Built through collaboration

Our continuous improvement work brings together content specialists, service designers, developers, subject matter experts and external partners. Every change, from streamlined page structures to faster, clearer pathways, is shaped by user feedback and agency-wide consultation.

Winning both awards shows that AFSA is not just meeting digital standards but lifting them across government. This acknowledgment reinforces our approach and motivates us to continue advancing public sector excellence.

Thank you to the GovCMS community members who voted for our websites. We're pleased to know our digital services are meeting your needs and delivering value.
