There were 372 debtors who entered a new personal insolvency in Greater Adelaide in the March quarter 2018. This number rose by 25 debtors or 7.2% from the December quarter 2017. Greater Adelaide accounted for 76.4% of all new debtors in South Australia in the March quarter 2018.

Business related personal insolvencies in Greater Adelaide

There were 60 debtors who entered a new business-related personal insolvency in Greater Adelaide in the March quarter 2018. This number did not change from the December quarter 2017.  The largest numbers of debtors entering a business-related personal insolvency in Greater Adelaide in the March quarter 2018 were in:

  • Onkaparinga (12 debtors)
  • Salisbury (7 debtors)
  • Playford (6 debtors)
  • Port Adelaide - East (6 debtors).

Rest of South Australia

Personal insolvency activity

There were 115 debtors who entered a new personal insolvency in rest of South Australia in the March quarter 2018. This number rose by nine or 8.5% from the December quarter 2017. Rest of South Australia accounted for 23.6% of all new debtors in South Australia in the March quarter 2018.

There were 20 debtors who entered a new business-related personal insolvency in rest of South Australia in the March quarter 2018. This is a fall of three debtors or 13.0% from the December quarter 2017. The largest numbers of debtors entering a new business-related personal insolvency in rest of South Australia in March quarter 2018 were in:

  • Murray and Mallee (8 debtors)
  • Fleurieu - Kangaroo Island (4 debtors).
