Media release: NSW (Dinatale) - Bankrupt found guilty of gambling property proceeds prior to bankruptcy

Mr Anthony Dinatale, of Canley Vale, New South Wales, pleaded guilty to gambling all of his Mount Pritchard property sale proceeds in the months leading up to his bankruptcy in March 2013.

The funds should have been made available to his creditors and the court found that he had offended under section 271(a) of the Bankruptcy Act 1966.

Mr Dinatale was convicted in the Downing Centre Local Court on 8 December 2015 and released on a 2-year good behaviour bond of $300 with Community Corrections Service supervision.

The case was prosecuted by the Office of the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions on behalf of the Australian Financial Security Authority.
